"Providing compassionate, patient-centered care through transparent systems and innovative, tech-enabled solutions — ensuring dignity, accessibility, and trust at every step of the healthcare journey."

Tareeq Ul Shifa is a non-profit startup initiated in Peshawar, Pakistan centered around the core belief of healthcare as a basic human right, not a privilege. Through the allocation of zakat donations, we aim to provide avenues and options to those who struggle to afford the treatments they need.
To introduce Zakat as a viable tool for economic and social change
Utilize zakat funds to finance medical costs for zakat eligible patients.
At Tareeq Ul Shifa, we are committed to complete transparency in all our processes. We ensure that donors and patients are fully informed about how funds are allocated and utilized. By maintaining clear communication and rigorous accountability, we build and sustain trust among all stakeholders. While doing so, we uphold strict confidentiality standards, ensuring that patient information is handled with the highest level of privacy and security.
We believe healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege. Our mission is to make outpatient healthcare accessible to everyone regardless of their age, gender or locality. By streamlining the donation and treatment process through the use of technology, we remove barriers that prevent people from receiving the care they need and offering them avenues and options they otherwise may not have.
Tareeq Ul Shifa is driven by a flexible, problem-solving mindset. We adjust to the different and changing needs of our patients and partners. We know that every person's situation is different so we give support that fits their needs instead of using the same solution for everyone. Our team stays open to new ideas and changes our plans when needed and makes sure help reaches people quickly and effectively no matter their situation.
Booking: Patient booking pertains to the organizational activity encompassing the actions and processes undertaken to create a profile within the Tareeq Ul Shifa organizational framework. The main goals are to create a profile detailing specific and identifying information pertaining to the patient and to safeguard said information.
As part of the qualification of a patient for the Booking part of our process, the patient must have a valid doctor's prescription present on hand with a unique marking made by the doctor to confirm their approval and involvement. The marking will be in the form of a sticker or card specific to the doctor. The prescription should contain the following information:
Obtainment: Obtainment refers to the process through which the patient's prescriptions are filled. After the patient booking process is complete, the patient will be guided to a foundation registered pharmacy. The patient will then, present their official Tareeq Ul Shifa identification card and, following authentication, will receive all covered pharmaceutical products listed on their prescription.
Authentication: The authentication process relates to the activities undertaken when the patient is present at the pre-approved pharmacy and is awaiting their approved medications. Upon presenting the Tareeq Ul Shifa ID, the pharmacist scans the QR code or NFC tag for secure login to the online portal. This grants access to the patient's profile, enabling the pharmacist to view and provide the approved prescription promptly. Any medication not dispensed to the patient due to reasons of shortages etc. will be marked by the pharmacist. The pharmacist will then confirm the disbursement of the prescription within the system and the patient is free to leave with their prescription.
Reimbursement: The purpose of Reimbursement is to establish a systematic process for reimbursing pharmacies for prescription expenses they've incurred while dispensing medication to Tareeq Ul Shifa registered patients. In this process, Tareeq Ul Shifa will be able to view all transactions taking place at a specific pharmacy and aggregate the total expenses for a certain time period. That expense will then be the total amount that will be reimbursed to the registered pharmacy.
All stakeholders currently involved in Tareeq Ul Shifa processes are as follows:
